Secondary Fluid Network
(SFN)

A closed-loop liquid cooling network that circulates coolant between the CDU and IT equipment, including servers, cold plates, manifolds, and other rack-level cooling components.

Primary Fluid Network
(PFN)

The facility-side cooling network that carries cooling fluid between the building’s cooling infrastructure and the CDU, transferring heat away from the secondary cooling loop.

Rear Door Heat Exchanger
(RDHx)

A heat exchanger installed at the rear of a server rack that captures heat from server exhaust air and transfers it to a circulating liquid coolant.

Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU)

Equipment that separates and manages the primary and secondary cooling loops while controlling coolant flow, temperature, pressure, filtration, and distribution to IT equipment.
